India Ranked 135th in Global Peace Index, 2022
According to the Global Peace Index, 2022 released on 15 June, 2022, India is ranked 135th out of 163 countries, while India's ranking was 138th in the year 2021.
This is the 16th edition of this index. According to the index,Iceland is the most peaceful country in the world and Afghanistan the most disturbed.
Global Peace Index
The Global Peace Index (GPI) wasstarted by Steve Killelea, an Australian technology entrepreneur and philanthropist. This index is released by the Australian think tank Institute for Economics and Peace.In this, countries are ranked according to the following three main conditions-
1. Social Security and Level of Security
2. On the basis of internal and external conflicts taking place in the countries
3. Based on the extent of militarization
