Indian-origin Kaushik Rajasekhar Wins Global Energy Prize 2022

Indian-origin professor Kaushik Rajasekhar has won the 2022 Global Energy Prize. Rajashekhar is a
professor of engineering at the University of Houston.

He has been given this award for his outstanding contribution to transportation electrification and
energy efficiency technologies while reducing power generationbemissions.

Out of a record 119 nominations from 43 countries, only three people were selected for the honor,given by the Global Energy  Association. The award ceremony 
will be held during the Russian  Energy Week in Moscow from  October 12-14, 2022. Rajasekhar 
Electric owns 36 US patents and 15  foreign patents.

It is worth mentioning that  Rajshekhar, originally from India,  spent his childhood in a small  village in South India. He lived  there with his parents and two  brothers in extreme poverty. 

After completing his studies, he  worked as an Assistant Professor  and Senior Scientific Officer at the  Indian Institute of Science. He later  did his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan  University, USA in 1992. Rajasekhar  told that he has been working on  transport electrification for a long  time
