Equal pay for men and women cricketers in New Zealand
Recently, after the historic five-year deal between New Zealand Cricket (NZC) and the players' union, for the first time in world cricket, the country's men and women cricketers will get equal match fees in all formats and competitions. An agreement has also been signed between the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) and 6 major associations regarding this.
This deal will be for the first five years. Under this, domestic cricketers including international will also get the same fees for matches held in all tournaments.
Let us tell you that if the salary is received under the agreement, then New Zealand's highest ranked women cricketers will be paid about Rs 1.29 crore every year. 9th ranked female players will get around Rs 1.17 crore, whereas 17th rank players will get around Rs 1.12 crore.
