Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated the SVANIdhi Mahotsav

Recently, on the occasion of the second anniversary of Prime Minister Street Vendor's Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANIdhi) scheme, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has launched the 'SVANIdhi Mahotsav’. It will be celebrated from July 09 to 31, 2022.

The Mahotsav will be organized in 75 cities across all states and union territories and will showcase various cultural activities, digital training activities and loan fairs. There will also be programs tohonor eminent street vendors.

The festival aims to celebrate 75 years of independence with nano- entrepreneurs and is the first of its kind for the financial inclusion of street vendors. He further said that three thousand six hundred crore rupees have been distributed to the beneficiaries of the scheme.

The PM SVANIdhi program was launched by the Modi government in July 2020 to provide financial assistance through loans to street vendors battling the devastatingeffects of the Corona virus pandemic.
