 Ferdinand Marcos Jr sworn in as 17th President of the Philippines

 Ferdinand Marcos Jr., son of late leader Ferdinand Marcos, has been sworn in as the 17th President of the Philippines on 30 June, 2022 at the National Museum in Manila. Marcos Jr replaces Rodrigo Duterte, who has completed his six-yearterm. The term of the President in the Philippine Constitution is six years.

 Ahead of his swearing-in ceremony, outgoing leader Rodrigo Duterte received Marcos at the Malacanang Presidential Palace. Marcos Jr. won the presidential election in May with 60 percent of the vote over rival Maria Leonor Robredo.
