 Yair Lapid becomes the new Prime Minister of Israel


 In July 2022, Yair Lapid became the 14th Prime Minister of Israel. Prime Minister Lapid's term may be short, as he takes over as a caretaker government ahead of Israel's election on 1 November, 2022. Lapid replaced the outgoing Prime Minister Naftali Bennett as Prime Minister.

 Yair Lapid belongs to a family where his father and maternal grandfather played the role of journalists. His father also became a journalist-turned-politician and then a minister at the Centre. His maternal grandfather started a newspaper. Before entering politics, Yair has also contributed in this.

 Let us tell you that before becoming the Prime Minister of the country, Yair Lapid had been the Foreign Minister of the country. He was holding this post from 2021- 2022.

 Earlier, Lapid has also been the Leader of the Opposition during 2020-21. During 2013-14, he held the post of Finance Minister of the country in his hands. Before joining the politics of the country, Lapid used to be a TV host and news anchor. He belongs to the country's Yesh Atid Party.
