Japan's Sakurajima Volcano Erupts


Sakurajima Volcano, located in Kagoshima, Japan, erupted on 24 July, 2022. Ashes and stones are  continuously coming out of it. People have been evacuated from the houses nearby. According to a report, JMA has issued an alert of the fifth level.

According to the US space agency NASA, Sakurajima Volcano is among the most active volcanoes in Japan. In the past, this volcano has erupted several times in recent decades. It had erupted earlier in January 2022 and ash clouds were spreaded in the air for several kilometers.

This volcano is located in Kagoshima province, which is in the southern part of Japan. Volcano expert Robin George Andreev said that this entire area is fully prepared for volcanic eruption. He said that the area of danger depends on the activity of the volcano. He told that in this entire area, people have been given training about the prevention of volcanic blast. This volcano of Japan is included in the world's most monitored volcano.
