India and US to organize a mega military exercise 'Yudh Abhyas' in October
A mega military exercise series will be organized between India and the US from October 14 to 31, 2022 at Auli, Uttarakhand. The name of this exercise is 'Yudh Abhyas'. This year it will be the 18th edition of this exercise series.
The objective of this exercise is to promote mutual understanding, cooperation and interactivity between the armies of the two countries. Under this, many complex exercises have been planned. This exercise is very important in view of the rapidly changing situation in the Indo- Pacific region.
The previous edition of this exercise took place in Alaska, United States in October 2021. Notably, relations between India and the US have improved since 2016, when the US designated India as a 'major defense partner'.
