After the death of Maharaja Jaswant Singh in the 17th century, Veer Durgadas Rathore single- handedly maintained the rule of the Rathore dynasty over Marwar (Jodhpur). Durga Das Rathore (13 August 1638 – 22 November 1718) is credited with maintaining the
Rathore dynasty in Marwar after the death of Jaswant Singh in the 17th century. To do this he challenged the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb.
His father Askaran Rathore was a minister to Maharaja Jaswant Singh. He was given special military status. Mother's name was Netkanwar Bai. Durgadas was
brought up in a village named Lunawa. On 22 November 1718 at Ujjain on the banks of Shipra,
