Reuters Institute Releases Digital News Report-2022
Recently 'Reuters Institute' has released Digital News Report-2022. This year's report in total 11th is based on a survey conducted via
online questionnaire in January/February 2022 by YouGuv, a British market research and data analytics firm. It includes 46 markets across six continents.

1. People are relying less on news content.
2. There has been a decline in the use of traditional news media in almost all countries.
3. Smartphones have become a major tool in which most people get news first thing in the morning.
4. Facebook is becoming the most used social network for news, TikTok has become the fastest growing network, reaching 40% among 18-24-year-olds with 15% using as the platform for news.
5. More than 58% people read news in India while about 17% watch it.
▪️Trends in India
India is a strongly mobile-centric market. 72% of survey respondents accessed news via smartphone and 35% via computer. Also, 84% of Indian respondents received news online, 63% from social media, 59% from television and 49% from print media.
YouTube (53%) and WhatsApp (51%) were the top social media platforms for receiving news. India has registered modest growth globally, with 41% of the overall news being trusted.
