Prime Minister Narendra Modi Attends G-7 Summit Held In Germany
On 27 May, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has participated in the G-7 summit held in Schloss Elmau, Germany. The 48th summit of the G-7 has been organized in Germany on 26 and 27 June 2022. Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined India's efforts for green development, clean energy, sustainable lifestyles and global well-being at the G-7 session on Climate, Energy and Health.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister had a bilateral meeting with the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa. He will also hold bilateral meetings with the President of Indonesia and the German Chancellor. Modi will also meet the Canadian Prime Minister and the President of the European Union Commission on the sidelines of the summit. Let us tell you that in the year 2021, the 47th summit was hosted by Britain.
Group of Seven (G-7)
It is an inter-governmental organization that was formed in the year 1975. The bloc meets annually to discuss issues of common interest, such as global
economic governance, international security and energy policy. The G-7 countries are the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the US.All G-7 countries and India are part of the G20. The G-7 has no formal constitution or a fixed headquarters. The decisions taken by the leaders during the annual summit are non-binding.
