10th Swara Samrat Festival will start from today
This week 'Swara Samrat Festival- SSF' is being organized. This year this is the 10th edition of this festival. The program will start from Delhi on 23 July and will later travel to Kolkata, Bengaluru and Mumbai.
This festival is being celebrated to commemorate the centenary year of famous sarod maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. It features performances by various artists
every year.
Swara Samrat Festival (SSF)
This year it is a two-day event running from July 23 to 24. It showcases experienced masters and young masters of Indian classical music and dance. In this,
Kathak Jugalbandi, Pakhawaj, Hindustani singing, Sitar- Sarod Jugalbandi etc. will be presented. It is worth noting that this festival is an initiative of Sarod player Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar and his family.
This mega festival is being organized by him in association with his Sriranjani Foundation Trust for the last 10 years. It started in January 2013 as a celebration to celebrate the 90th birth year of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan (1922–2009).
