Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Dies after Being Shot
Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe passed away on 08 July, 2022. Shinzo Abe was shot by an assailant while giving a speech, after which he fainted. After this incident he was taken to the hospital, but by then he had died. This incident happened in Nara, Japan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled his death and declared a day of national mourning on 9 July, 2022.

Shinzo Abe has been the longest- serving prime minister in the history of Japan. He also served from 2006-2007 and 2012-2020.Shinzo Abe introduced the concept of abenomics. He was the first Japanese Prime Minister to participate in the Republic Day Parade of India in Delhi as the Chief Guest. India and Japan relations became very strong during his
tenure.
Netaji Award-2022 and Padma Vibhushan 2021
On 23 January 2022, the Netaji Research Bureau has honored former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe with the Netaji Award- 2022. In January 2021, India also honored Shinzo Abe with the country's second highest civilian honor, the Padma Vibhushan.
Abenomics
It refers to the set of economic policies that were introduced by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. This includes policies to increase the money supply in the country, to implement reforms, to increase government spending. It consisted of three arrows. The first is focused on achieving the 2% inflation target, the second on flexible fiscal policy and the third on the growth strategy.
