Rajasthan launches country's first digital Lok Adalat powered by Artificial Intelligence
In July 2022, the acting chairman of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and Supreme Court judge U.U.Lalit launched the country's first Digital Lok Adalat
powered by Artificial Intelligence during the 18th All India Legal Services Authority meeting in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority's Digital Lok Adalat has been designed and developed by its technology partner, Jupitice justice technologies.
National Legal Services Authority
National Legal Services Authority, NALSA was constituted under the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987 to provide free legal services to the weaker sections of the society and intended to organize Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes. The Chief Justice of India is its chief custodian and the second senior judge of the Supreme Court of India is the acting head of the authority.
Functions of NALSA
NALSA issues guidelines on State Legal Services Authorities to implement legal aid programs and schemes across the country.
