Tamil Nadu Government Launched 'Chief Minister Breakfast Scheme'
Recently the Tamil Nadu government issued an order to implement the first phase of 'Chief Minister Breakfast Scheme' in 1,545 government primary schools to benefit over 1.14 lakh children in
classes I to V across the state during the year 2022-23.

Chief Minister Stalin told the students that since they are coming to school after skipping breakfast, the government has decided to provide them breakfast
in government schools.

Under this, breakfast made from millet available in the area can be provided to the students at least two days a week. Each student will be provided with 150-500 grams of cooked breakfast food along with vegetable sambar.

In the first phase of the scheme, breakfast will be provided to 1,14,095 students studying in 1,545
primary schools in villages of different regions at an estimated cost of Rs 33.56 crore in the academic year 2022-2023.

Breakfast will be provided with 50 grams of rice or semolina (per day per child) or locally grown cereals,
15 grams of dal, sambar and locally available vegetables.


In addition, breakfast made from locally available grains may be provided at least two days a week.
Let us educate, Tamil Nadu was the first state to start providing mid- day meal to government school students.
