The Cabinet Committee on Economic  Affairs has approved the new railway  line Taranga Hill-Ambaji-Abu Road

Recently, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the construction of 'Taranga Hill- Ambaji-Abu Road New Rail Line'. The total length of the new railline
will be 116.65 km.

This project will be completed by the year 2026-27. The project will generate direct employment for about 40 lakh man-days during construction. This route will pass
through Sirohi district of Rajasthan and Banaskantha and Mehsana districts of Gujarat. It will provide an alternate route to the existing Ahmadabad-Abu Road railway line.

Ambaji is a famous pilgrimagetemple site located in Gujarat, which is included in 51Shaktipeeths. Every year lakhs of devotees come here from Gujarat
as well as from other parts of thecountry and abroad. That's why  this railway line is dedicated to these lakhs of devotees. It will provide easy travel facility for them.

Apart from this, devotees visiting the Ajitnath Jain Temple (one of the 24 holy Jain Tirthankaras) located at Taranga Hill will also be greatly benefited by this railway line. This new railway line between TarangaHill-Ambaji-Abu Road will connect these two important religious places with the main network of railways.
