Tripura Government Launches 'Earn With Learn' Scheme
Recently the Tripura government has started a new scheme named 'Earn with Learn' to bring back the people who have dropped out of schools after the outbreak of Covid- 19. This scheme is a part of
'Vidyalaya Chalo Abhiyan' (Chalo School Chalte hai).
The government attempted to.bring school dropouts back in 2020 by implementing the Vidyalaya Chalo Abhiyan, which was first launched in 2009, but was unable to make any progress due to the pandemic. Around 9,000 students aged 6 to 14 dropped out of school during the pandemic.
The 'Earn with Learn' initiative of Tripura Education Department will involve third year students of all colleges in conducting surveys to find out dropouts in all classes. Rs 500 will be given to each volunteer if they enroll a dropout student in the same school. Anganwadi teachers will help the volunteers to make the program a success.
