UAE to host Asia Cup 2022
Cricket T20 Asia Cup 2022 will be held in the United Arab Emirates. After the Apex Council meeting,
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said.that the Asia Cup 2022 will be held.in the United Arab Emirates.
Significantly, the Asia Cup 2022 was.proposed to be held in Sri Lanka, but political instability is at its peak
in this island country.
The country's President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has taken refuge in Maldives. In such circumstances, organizing the Asia Cup was not easy. Because of this, other options were being considered, but now the name of the United Arab Emirates has been agreed. The Asia Cup 2022 (T20) is to be held from August 27 to September 11.

The last event of the Asia Cup was held in 2018. The same was hosted by the UAE itself. Then a total of 6
teams participated. India and Bangladesh faced each other in the finals. Shikhar Dhawan was the man of the match in the 3-wicket win in the final match.
Since the first edition in 1984, India has been the most successful team in the tournament, lifting the trophy 7 times. Earlier this tournament was played in 50 over
format, but in 2016 it was played in T20 style for the first time.
