Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare launched the 11th Agriculture Census in the country

On July 28, 2022, the Eleventh Agricultural Census (2021-22) has been launched in the country by
the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar.

This computation will have huge benefits in a vast and agricultural country like India. During this, Narendra Singh Tomar released a booklet on Operational Guidelines for Computation for the use of States/UTs, as well as launched a Data Collection Portal/App.

Agriculture computation is done in 5 years, which will be done this year due to corona pandemic. The
field work of agricultural computation will start in August 2022.

Agricultural Census is the main source of information on a variety of agricultural parameters at a relatively fine-grained level, such as the number and area of
operational holdings, their size,class-wise distribution, land use, tenancy and cropping pattern, etc.

This is the first time that data collection for agricultural
computations will be done on smart phones and tablets, so that data is available on time. Most of
the states have digitized their land records and Girdawaris.

Due to which the collection of agricultural census data will be further accelerated. The use ofdigitized land records and the use of mobile apps for data collection will enable creation of a database of operational holders in the country.
