Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched 'Mission Bhumiputra', a digital way to issue digital caste certificates to students on August 01. The Chief Minister has inaugurated the Bhumiputra Portal in a program organized at Shrimant Sankardev Kala kshetra.
Implemented by the Department of Tribal Affairs and Social Justice Empowerment, the mission is implemented to further the government's mission of making public service easier for the masses. From now on, the manual system of issuance of caste certificate will be abolished.
From next year onwards, Class VIII students can apply for caste certificate through this portal, which will also be linked with the Chief Minister's dashboard so that the Chief Minister's Office can monitor the entire process.
