World Lion Day celebrated on 10th August
World Lion Day is organized every year on 10 August to raise awareness about the conservation of lions globally. The initiative to conserve lions was started in the year 2013 and the first 'World Lion Day' was also organized in the same year.
The lion population has declined by 80% in the last 100 years. The main goal of organizing this day is to raise awareness to preserve lions in their natural habitat. It also works on the security related measures of the lion community.
