Meghalaya To Host 2nd North-East Olympic Games 2022
Meghalaya will host the second North East Olympic Games 2022, which will be held from October 30
to November 6, 2022. The first edition was held in Manipur in 2018 with only 12 disciplines. In this
edition, around 4,000 participants from eight northeastern states will compete in 18 disciplines at 13 locations spread across Shillong.
A total of 18 disciplines have been finalized - Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Judo, Karate, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Wushu, Cycling, Golf, Weightlifting and Wrestling.
The sports events have been selected on the basis of available sports infrastructure and on the advice of Meghalaya State Olympic Association. These games will have special significance as Meghalaya is celebrating its 50th year of establishment this year.
