Akash Ambani appointed new chairman of Reliance Jio

Akash Ambani has become the new chairman of the country's largest telecom company Reliance Jio. The
company has decided to appoint a chairman from a non-executive director.

Akash Ambani is the son of Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries. Akash Ambani joined the board of Reliance Jio in 2014. Mukesh Ambani has resigned from the post of director of Reliance Jio.

In fact, the board meeting of Reliance Jio was held on 27 June, 2022, in which the resignation of Mukesh Ambani from the post of director from June 27 was
approved. So in this meeting, the board put its stamp on making Akash Ambani the chairman of the company.

Akash Ambani has become the new chairman of Reliance Jio with effect from 27 June, 2022.
Reliance Jio in its board meeting has also approved the appointment of Pankaj Mohan Pawar as the Managing Director. However, this would require approval from the
shareholders.

Apart from this, it has been decided to appoint Raminder Singh Gujral and KV Choudhary as additional directors of the company.Reliance Jio is currently the country's largest telecom company, which has declared a net profit of Rs 4,171 crore in the fourth quarter of 20221-22. At the same time, the company's revenue has increased by 20.4 percent to Rs 20,901 crore from 17,358 crore.
