Results of Ranking of States’ Exercise 2021 on support to Start- up Ecosystems declared
On 04 July, 2022, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has released the results of the third edition of Ranking of States 2021 for Supporting the Startup Ecosystem. Participants were assessed in 7 broad improvement areas, consisting of 26 action points.

▫️Best Performers - Gujarat and Karnataka
▫️Top Performers - Kerala,
Maharashtra, Odisha andTelangana
▫️Leaders- Assam, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh
▫️Aspiring Leaders – Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan
▫️Emerging Startup Ecosystems – Andhra Pradesh and Bihar
▫️Meghalaya topped the Union Territories and North Eastern States category.
▫️ Jammu and Kashmir appeared as the top performer in the Union Territories and North Eastern States category.
▪️ Startup Ranking of States
The Startup India initiative of the Government of India envisages building a strong startup ecosystem in the country to foster innovation and provide opportunities to budding entrepreneurs.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is conducting the States Startup Ranking exercise since 2018. This exercise plays a vital role in easing the business environment for startups in the
country.
