Parameshwaran Iyer to be the new CEO of NITI Aayog
On 24 June, 2022, the Central Government has appointed IAS officer Parameshwaran Iyer as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog. The tenure of current CEO Amitabh Kant will end on 30 June,2022. His term will be of two years.
For information, let us tell you that in the year 2016, Amitabh Kant was appointed as the CEO of NITI Aayog. After this his tenure was extended thrice and now it is going to end on 30 June.
Parameshwaran Iyer was born in Srinagar. He is a 1981 batch IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh. He took voluntary retirement from the Indian Civil Service in the year 2009. After that he started working with the World Bank as a water resource manager. For some time, he has also worked with the UN and provided his services. Let us tell you that recently Suman K Berry was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of NITI Aayog.
