Rajasthan Government approves‘Mukhyamantri Bal Gopal Yojana’
On the initiative of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, milk will be provided two days a week to the
children of classes 1 to 8 in the state under 'Mukhyamantri Bal Gopal Yojana'. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved this scheme announced in the budget for the financial year 2022-23. Milk will be
made available to children in government schools, madrasas and special training centers associated
with the Mid Day Meal Scheme.
Under the scheme, milk prepared from powder will be made available to the children studying in government schools for two days a week on Tuesday and Friday. If
these days are a holiday, milk will be made available on the next academic day. 150 ml milk will be distributed to children of classes 1 to 5 and 200 ml to children of
classes 6 to 8.
The powder milk will be procured from the Rajasthan Co-operative Dairy Federation (RCDF). District wise allocation of powdered milk will be done through the
Commissionerate, Mid-Day Meal. Milk will be made available to the students in each school immediately after the prayer meeting on the scheduled days.
This will be the responsibility of the school management committee. The measurement of milk quality will be ensured by RCDF and School Management Committee. The Mid-Day Meal Commissioners will be responsible for the effective and systematic implementation of the scheme at the state level. Similarly, the District Collector at the district
level, the Chief Block Education Officer at the block level, the Panchayat Elementary Education Officer at the Gram Panchayat level and the School Management
Committee at the school level will be responsible.
Benefits
With the implementation of ‘Mukhyamantri Bal Gopal Yojana’, there will be an improvement in the nutritional level of children from classes I to VIII, enrollment and attendance in government schools will increase and drop out of students will also be stopped. This will also improve the nutritional value of the mid-day Meal.
