Arjun Babuta Wins First Gold Medal For India In ISSF World Cup 2022
Recently Arjun Babuta has won the first gold medal for India in the men's 10m air rifle event at the.ISSF World Cup 2022. Arjun defeated Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Lukas Kozeniesky 17-9.
Earlier, he had qualified for the gold medal by finishing at the top of the ranking with 261.1 points. It is worth noting that he won the gold medal at the 2016 Junior World Cup in Gabala, Azerbaijan.
The ISSF World Cup is being held in Changwon, Korea from July 9 to July 21, 2022. Around 450 athletes from 43 countries are participating in 30 events. The competition marks the first in Changwon since 2019 after the pandemic and the 9th since 2003.

This is a blue ribbon event. It is one of the most prestigious international events in shooting. The first ISSF World Cup was held in Mexico City in 1986. This World Cup is held for rifle and pistol events, with a separate Shotgun World Cup held every year. German pistol shooter Ralf Schumann is the most successful athlete at the ISSF World Cup (39 gold medals and 56 in Total).
