In a bid to enhance cooperation between navies in the Indian Ocean, on 10 July, 2022, China and Pakistan deployed their new high- tech naval ships and fighter jets to jointly deal with maritime security.threats has started 'Sea Guardian-2 exercise ' off the Shanghai coast.

The aim of exercise is to enhance defense cooperation, promote professional and technical exchanges, deepen the traditional friendship between the two countries and the two navies, and promote the development of an all- weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan.
