Smriti Irani becomes Minority Welfare Minister, Scindia gets Steel Ministry

Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani has been given the charge of Minority Welfare Ministry on 06 July, 2022. Apart from this, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has been given the charge

of Steel Ministry. Smriti Irani became the Member in Parliament after defeating Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha elections from Amethi. At the same time, Jyotiraditya Scindia is a Rajya Sabha MP of BJP from Madhya Pradesh.Earlier, Union Ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Ram Chandra Prasad Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 06 July, a day before the term of the Rajya Sabha ends and resigned from the Union Cabinet. Earlier, during the meeting of the Union Cabinet, Prime Minister Modi had praised both the leaders for serving the country and the people.

The tenure of both the leaders as Rajya Sabha members ended on 07 July. Naqvi was not nominated by the BJP from anywhere in the biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha held recently. RCP Singh was a minister in the central government from the quota of Janata Dal United. He too has not been given the next term by JDU. Singh held the charge of the Steel Ministry.
