Technology Innovation Center TiHAN Inaugurated at IIT Hyderabad
On 04 July, 2022, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the Technology Innovation Center on State-of-the-art Autonomous Navigation-TiHAN to develop Unmanned Aerial Vehicles at IIT Hyderabad campus. IIT Hyderabad is supporting the Ministry of Science and Technology for innovation in emerging next generation smart mobility technologies.
The Center emphasizes on urgent solutions to various challenges related to Unmanned and Autonomous Vehicles, with the required focus on R&D of interdisciplinary technologies in the specific domain area of Autonomous Navigation and Data Acquisition Systems.
The Center for Technology Innovation based on Autonomous Navigation System or Autonomous Navigation System for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Remotely Controlled Vehicles (RoVs) at IIT Hyderabad is known as 'TiHAN Foundation'.
It has been recognized as a Block-8 company by the Institute in June 2020. It is a multi-disciplinary initiative involving researchers from Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical & Aerospace, Civil, Mathematics and Design at IIT Hyderabad with the collaboration and support of reputed institutions and industries. This is a right step towards 'Self-reliant India', 'Skill India' and 'Digital India'.
