World Malala Day  celebrated on 12th July
Every year on 12 July, 'Malala Day' is organized globally by the United Nations to honor the rights of women and children. Malala Yousafzai, born on 12 July, 1997 in Pakistan, is a social activist who has been fighting relentlessly to promote women's education.

She opposed, publicly and vigorously, the ban on girl child education in Pakistan and advocated the need to educate the girl child.

Malala gained international fame, at the age of 15, when extremists tried to assassinate her. On 10 October, 2014, Malala Yousafzai was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize jointly with Indian child rights
activist Kailash Satyarthi "for fighting for the education of children and women". Thus she is the youngest Nobel Peace Prize recipient.

Apart from this, in the year 2012, she was awarded the National Youth Peace Prize by the Government of Pakistan. She has also founded a no profit.
organization 'Malala Fund' to help young girls go to school. Malala has also been awarded the honorary Canadian citizenship.
