Gujarat became first state in India to launch the Semiconductor Policy
Recently the Government of Gujarat has announced
Semiconductor Policy 2022-27. With this, Gujarat has become the first state in the country to issue this
policy. The aim is to attract newbinvestment in this sector. Under the new policy, the state government is offering incentives and subsidies. Under this policy,
Dholera Semicon City will be set up in the Dholera Special Investment Zone.
The policy has been announced with a commitment to promote rapid and inclusive growth in the local semiconductor chip manufacturing sector in the state
of Gujarat. Through this policy, about two lakh jobs will be created in the next five years.
The India Semiconductor Mission has been established by the Government of India with the objective of achieving self-reliance in the semiconductor chip
manufacturing sector.
The policy has been announced to attract investment in the semiconductor manufacturing sector in India. A provision of Rs 76000 crore has been made by the
Government of India under this policy. In parallel with this initiative of the Government of India, the Chief Minister has announced the Semiconductor Policy to attract investment in the semiconductor chip manufacturing sector in Gujarat.
