Indian Navy's First Naval Innovation and Indigenization Seminar 'Swavlamban' Organized
The first seminar 'Swavlamban' of Naval Innovation and Indigenization Organization (NIIO) was held in New Delhi from 18-19 July 2022. Prime Minister Narendra
Modi was present on the occasion as the chief guest.
Hon'ble Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh was the special guest in the seminar. During this,the Prime Minister unveiled the 'SPRINT Challenges'. 'SPRINT
(Supporting Pole-Vaulting in R&D through I-DEX, NIIO and TDAC) Challenges' aims to promote the use of indigenous technology in the Indian Navy.
Naval Innovation and Indigenization Organization
To meet its requirements related to technology Ministry of Defense has launched it in the year 2020. Its objective is to promote innovation and indigenization for self-reliance in the defense sector keeping in mind the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. It will establish dedicated structures for end users to interact
with academia and industry.
