Khadi and Village Industries Commission launches
'Knowledge Portal'
The ‘Knowledge Portal’ for Khadi has been launched by the Center of Excellence for Khadi. It is a developed platform for providing design instruction to Khadi
Institutions. The portal has been inaugurated by Ms. Preeta Verma, CEO, Khadi and Village Industries
Commission (KVIC) on 14 July 2022. Center of Excellence for Khadi in NIFT has been set up by KVIC of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to support Khadi Institutions.
Knowledge Portal for Khadi endeavors to disseminate design knowledge to a wider section of Khadibinstitutions. The objective of the portal is to streamline the trends, especially to create suitable designs for Khadi.
Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC)
Khadi and Village Industries Commission is a statutory body under the 'Khadi and Village Industries Commission Act-1956'. Its main objective is to make plans, disseminate them and provide facilities and assistance for the establishment and development of
Khadi and Village Industries, wherever necessary, in
collaboration with other agencies in rural areas. It works under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
