SBI Launches 'WhatsApp Banking Service'
Recently State Bank of India (SBI) has started 'WhatsApp Banking Service'. This will help SBI
customers to avail banking services on WhatsApp and make banking easier for the customers as it will
eliminate the need to download the SBI app. Customers will be able to check account balance and get mini statement on WhatsApp.
It will facilitate easy data transfer between the bank and the customers. SBI will also introduce Application Programming Interface (API) banking for corporate
customers and aggregators. Under this system, API is used to communicate between the bank and the client server. WhatsApp launched payment services in India
in the year 2020 after getting approval from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in July 2017.
