Bangladeshi architect Marina becomes first South Asian to win 'Lisbon Triennale Lifetime Achievement Award'
Renowned Bangladeshi architect,Nresearcher and educator Marina Tabassum has become the first
South Asian to win the prestigious Lisbon Triennale Millennium BCP Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Lisbon Architecture Triennale Jury commended Marina Tabassum for providing an inspiring example
of work with local communitiesnthat can make a positive impact around the world, even in the most adversity.
Marina Tabassum is known for her architectural designs that break away from commercialism and
deeply blend environmental concerns. The unique practice of Marina Tabassum touches upon the spiritual fundamentals of architecture.
She will receive an original artwork as a prize by Portuguese artist and sculptor Carlos Nogueira duringnthe Lisbon Triennale that begins on September 29 in Lisbon, Portugal.
