England made the highest ever score in ODI cricket
On 17 June, 2022, the England cricket team has made the highestvODI score. In the first match of the three-match ODI series against the Netherlands, the English team scored 498 runs in 50 over for the loss of 4 wickets.
Even prior to this, the highest score of ODI cricket was recorded in the name of England only. Four years ago, England had scored 481 runs for the loss of 6 wickets against Australia.
Philip Salt (122), Dawid Malan (125) and Jos Buttler (162) scored centuries for England. This is only the third time in the history of ODI cricket that three batsmen have scored centuries in an innings. Earlier in 2015, South Africa had scored three centuries each in innings against West Indies and India.
Jos Buttler completed his century in just 47 balls. Seven batsmen have scored a total of 8 times faster than this in ODI cricket. Buttler himself has also scored a century in the first 46 balls (Vs Pakistan, 2015).South Africa’s AB de Villiers holds the records of hitting fastest century in ODIs. De Villiers scored a century in just 31 balls against West Indies in 2015.
