Aurangabad renamed as  Sambhajinagar

Recently Aurangabad district of Maharashtra has been renamed as Sambhaji Nagar and Osmanabad city as Dharashiv. Uddhav Thackeray's political party was
demanding to change the name of Aurangabad for a long time. In the midst of the crisis on the Maharashtra government, now there has been a change in the name of Aurangabad. Sambhaji was the eldest son of the Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji, after whom the party was named. Aurangabad got its name in the 17th century when the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was the
governor of the region. There has been a party demand for a long time to name it after Sambhaji. Aurangabad was named after the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

Changed Names 

Apart from this, approval was also given to name the Navi Mumbai International Airport after the late farmer leader D.B.Patil.
