 Neeraj Chopra wins silver medal in Diamond League 2022, breaks national record for second time


 Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has won silver medal in Diamond League 2022. In the Diamond League in Stockholm, Neeraj Chopra threw 89.94 m and in doing so broke his own national record. Earlier on 14 June, 2022, Neeraj had thrown the javelin 89.30 meters at the Paavo Nurmi Games. Neeraj has participated in the Diamond League after four years earlier had participated in Zurich in 2018. At that time he finished fourth with a throw of 85.73 meters. At that time also Neeraj had made a national record.

 Olympic champion, Neeraj Chopra finished second following world champion Anderson Peters. This was the first time that Neeraj Chopra finished in the top three in a Diamond League event. Anderson Peters won the gold medal while Germany's Julian Weber took the bronze with a throw of 89.08 m in his fifth attempt.
