Week-long Kharchi Festival begins in Tripura
'Kharchi Puja Festival' has started in Tripura on 07 July, 2022. It is organized for 7 days. Kharchi Puja is one of the most popular festivals of Tripura. In this, 14 Hindu deities are worshiped in a very royal manner. These gods are Shiva, Durga, Vishnu, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Kartik, Ganesh, Brahma, Awadhi (Jaldev), Chandra Ganga, Agni, Kamadeva and Himadri (Himalaya).
The word Kharchi is derived from.the word 'Khya', which means 'earth'. This puja is basically done for the worship of the earth.
