Ashish Kumar Chauhan to  be new MD and CEO of 
National Stock Exchange

Recently the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has approved the appointment of Ashish Kumar Chauhan as the next Managing Director and CEO of the
National Stock Exchange (NSE).

He will replace Vikram Limaye. Chouhan is currently the MD and CEO of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and his tenure will end in November 2022. Ashish Kumar is
one of the founders of NSE and worked in NSE from 1992 to 2000.

Exchange was the first exchange in India to offer modern, fullybautomated electronic trading.

The National Stock Exchange is the largest private wide-area network in India. Nifty 50 is the flagship
index of the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE). The index tracks the behavior of blue chip companies, the largest and most liquid Indian securities portfolio. This includes 50 out of around 1600 companies listed on the NSE.
