Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrated  across the country on 26th July

Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated in the country on 26 July 2022. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year to commemorate victory in the Kargil War on 26 July 1999. This year marks the 23rd anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Kargil war is also known as Operation Vijay.

In the year 1999, the armed conflict between India and Pakistan from May to July in the Kargil region of Kashmir is called the Kargil War. It lasted for about 60 days and ended on July 26, 1999.

In order to win this war, the Indian Army had faced insurmountable obstacles, enemy territories, adverse weather and other difficulties. Many soldiers of the Indian Army were martyred and injured in this war. This day is celebrated in honor of the indomitable courage and sacrifice of the army.
