Nitish Kumar resigns as Chief Minister of Bihar
On 09 August, 2022 Nitish Kumar has resigned from the post of Chief Minister amid the ongoing political crisis in Bihar. JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar met Governor FagunChauhan at Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation to him.
After submitting his resignation to the Governor, Nitish Kumar said that there was a consensus among all the MPs and MLAs of the party that we should leave the NDA.
He has also submitted the letter of support of 160 MLAs to stake claim to form the new government. The BJP has 77 MLAs and the JD(U) 45 in the 243-member assembly. The BJP has 77 seats, JD(U) 45, Congress 19, CPIML(L)-led Left 16 and RJD 79 in the Bihar Assembly.
Significantly, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has once again hit back. He has broken his alliance with BJP. In the meeting of JDU MLAs and MPs, he decided to break the alliance with BJP.
Meetings of leaders of different parties were being held, but all eyes were on the meeting of MPs and MLAs of Janata Dal United because in this meeting an announcement was to be made about the future of the alliance with the NDA.
