Tejaswin Shankar won bronze medal in men's high jump at Commonwealth Games 2022
Tejaswin Shankar has won the bronze medal in the men's high jump event, opening India's account in the athletics event of the Commonwealth Games 2022. Tejaswin Shankar won the first medal for India in track and field in the form of bronze.
Not only this, Tejaswin became the first athlete to win a medal for India in the high jump at any Commonwealth Games. Shankar jumped 2.22m to finish third while New Zealand's Hamish Kerr got the gold and Australia's Brendan Starc got the silver.
