Logo and tagline of 36th National Games 2022 launched
In July 2022, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat Olympic Association (GOA) and the Gujarat
State Government to jointly organize the 36th National Games 2022. A logo for the 36th National Games 2022 was also launched on the occasion of the signing of the MoU.
The logo depicts two enduring and proud symbols of Gujarat - the Statue of Unity of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the Gir Asiatic Lion. The last edition of the National Games was held in Kerala in the year 2015. The 2022 edition of the National Games will be held at an interval of seven years.
36th National Games 2022
The 36th National Games will bebheld in Gujarat from September 27 to October 10, 2022, covering all 28 states and 8 union territories. It comprises a total of 36 sports which is the highest in the history of the
National Games. The tagline for these games is 'Celebrating Unity through Sports'.
This year Yogasan and Mallakhamb have been added to the list of sports. Thus it will promote indigenous sports in India. The opening ceremony will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium. National Games 2022 will be organized in 6 cities of Gujarat namely Gandhinagar, Surat, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara and Bhavnagar.
