Uttarakhand launches Dettol School Hygiene Education program in primary schools
In order to create awareness about hygiene among the children in primary schools of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched Dettol School Hygiene Education Program on 16th August, 2022. For this, a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) was signed between the state's education department and consumer health and sanitation
giant Racket. This Hygiene education program will be run in 13 thousand primary schools in all the 13 districts of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, the ChiefnMinister said that this program would bring about a change in thendaily behaviour of children towards hygiene. He said that it is necessary to create awareness amongnchildren about hygiene in personal, schools, homes and nearby areas.
Dhami said that from birth to the age of six, the mental and physical development of children is the fastest and they move ahead by following the discipline found in
the early stages of life. He said that the coming 25 years would be the deciding factor of the country and today's children would be thenleaders of the country after 25 years, so it is necessary to give them the right direction.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement the National
Education Policy-2020. He said thatnBal Vatikas have been started in 4457 Anganwadi centers in the
state and new programs liken'Praveshotsav', 'Aarohi',N'Kaushalam', 'Anandam', 'Vidya Setu' are being run.
